Confusion 1:

SU minibus is definitely a no go, all passengers need to be students or associated members. This would have worked out the cheapest option by far. Oh well.

Why a no go? Associate membership is £5 for the year. Those who aren't students or associate members already now have a month to become associate members, and it can be done by post. Where's the problem?



Confusion 2:

For seven of us and using Dave's estimate of £100 fuel for the journey, that would be over £51 each.....you see now why I'm struggling to find something within our price range. I don't know about everyone else but that's too expensive for me. I've already had a quote for hire with driver of £280.

I thought there were nine of us? (£280+£100)/9 = £42.

Ooh, I didn't realise it was that cheap, I had £30 in my head. But if everyone's happy to become an associated member the minibus hire would be £125 + 17p per mile. 322 miles = £55. Total = £180. Also FREE FUEL. Sounds like a plan.

I've been in contact with the woman who organises the minibus today, so if people are happy to do this, then become an associated member asap and I'll book in the next day or so. Providing it is free.

To "officially" be a member of BladeSoc - and attend Saturday meetups - you need to be an SU member (or associate member) and pay the membership fee.
